The Transformation Table and Chair

Transformation Table & Chair

(Prototypes for a line of transformable furniture)

As the knobs are turned on the chair and table, different colored and/or printed fabrics connected together in a strip and stored on rolls, weave through the frames from one end to the other, transforming the look and/or function of each piece. The frames can be made of various eco-friendly materials including wood, metal, or bamboo. One frame can support many different looks and/or functions. Since one chair or table can become many different chairs or tables by simply changing out the fabric, less of the earth’s resources are used over time as styles change. Also the fabric rolls can be changed out and recycled along with the frames.
