A Monument To The Flow OF Information In Our Digital Age

A Monument To The Flow OF Information In Our Digital Age

The Monument To The Flow Of Information In Our Digital Age is a proposal for a large (60 feet high by 50 feet square) public art gathering place installation. It consists of ninety blue painted steel columns mounted onto a square concrete pad. Lights are built-in at the base of each of the columns in order to illuminate the structure at night. Fifty long white painted steel arrows are randomly woven through and attached to the blue columns.

Symbolically the blue columns refer to the atmosphere around the earth, through which information of all kinds (symbolized by the white arrows) flow from place to place in order to keep people on our planet connected.

Since this kind of global communication is essential in our digital age, it seems only fitting that a monument (which also functions as a public gathering place) should be built that celebrates its importance to us all.
