Downsizing The Houses
Downsizing The Houses is a series of photomontages that visually and conceptually play with the idea of reducing the size of the houses many of us live in, in order to symbolically reduce the consumption of the earths resources needed for their construction.
Digital Photos were taken of various houses and their immediate surroundings. Most of the houses were selected because of their large size. The photos were then placed into a computer where the house portions of the images were isolated. Each of the isolated houses were then copied, reduced in size, and copied again and again until a completely new form was created from each original house image. The reformed houses were kept in their original landscapes juxtaposed to the familiar world, now inhabited by a hybrid of what was there before
