The Staircase Place

The Staircase Place

The Staircase Place was designed as a multifunctional structure in response to the current pandemic and the need to isolate ourselves as much as possible by staying at home as much as possible. As a result of this, working, playing, and exercising at home becomes more important then ever, and the need to create aesthetically exciting places in which to do these things at home, has become extremely desirable.

The Staircase Place consists of a series of four staircases that wrap around four central frame columns, which support an enclosed space at the top. Inside of this space, there are built-in seats attached to each of the four walls. The space is designed to function as an office, a studio, or a playhouse.  Before anyone can enter the special space at the top, he or she must walk up and down the meandering staircases. The staircases are there to function as an outdoor place on which to exercise.

The Staircase Place is designed to be installed with little preparation almost anywhere including in a backyard. It is constructed of sustainable grown wood, and painted with eco-friendly paint.

The structure can be powered by a large solar panel mounted on the roof, and/or by the local power grid.
