Light Columns are a new series of my photo art collages. They were all created through a process of photographing lights at night with a small digital camera. I move the camera very fast as I take the picture. As a result, the image streaks the light into many different shapes. Those images are then placed into a computer where they are usually cut into sections, doubled, and placed back together to form different symmetrical light structures.
These light structures are then doubled and/or tripled and placed back together again, in order to form the Light Columns. In this way, I am actually building the structures with light.
