The Black Panther’s Pavilion

The Black Panther’s Pavilion is a sculpture that experiments with the merging of surreal art, architecture, and technology. It consists of a series of black painted steel square tubes that form a matrix support frame, onto which various white painted organic shaped steel elements are attached. A large molded fiberglass Black Panther is mounted onto one of these shapes. In addition, there is a long curved yellow colored round tube mounted on the top of the sculpture.

The sculpture was designed to appear to have some kind of function, however no specific function was predetermined in its creation. The only intension was to create a completely unique structure that would inspire the visitors to wonder about what this thing is, and why it was designed in the way it was. A bizarre combination of surreal fact and fantasy was the primary goal in the design.
