Cutaway
Cutaway is a painted wood sculpture that was inspired by architectural drawings and diagrams that have some of the external parts left out to reveal the interiors. I am particularly interested through this sculpture in planting a mystery in the minds of the viewers about what the rest of the sculpture might look like, if it were to be fully realized with all of the original parts. In this way, the viewers participate in the creation of the sculpture by imagining its final form over and over again based on the clues I have given them. This sculpture is 39 inches wide, 39 inches deep, and 84 inches high.
