Deconstructing Ellen’s World
Deconstructing Ellen’s World is a series of photomontages that visually deconstruct parts of the real world that we normally think of as stable. Photos were taken of various things (usually within a landscape) with a digital camera. They were then placed into a computer where the primary objects were isolated in Photoshop. Sections of the primary objects were then fragmented out of their normal positions relative to the whole image, in order to create the illusion of a new unexpected thing. These new hybrid images then begin to suggest the possibility of an alternative universe in which Ellen inhabits.
