Apparently there's an admissions open house next week. I'm sure the school is going to keep you very busy if you stop by, but if there's any other questions you may have about the M.Arch I program please feel free to contact me via this website by leaving a comment or sending email.

I AM COMING UP FOR THE OPEN HOUSE. DID YOU ATTEND THE GSD OPEN HOUSE BEORE APPLYING? ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO PRIORITIZE MY TIME?
I didn't attend the open house... sorry. First question and I'm already worthless. Damn.
DON'T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF. YOU CAN MAKE IT UP TO ME BY SHOWING ME ALL THE DIRT WHEN I GET THERE.
What type of a science and math background did you have coming into the GSD program? I am currently working in an architectural office and don't use these skills on a daily basis. I also come from and art background I think you understand my concern.
kris- I had not taken calc or physics when applying to the gsd and as far as I know the admissions is blind to these course requirements. That is, if you get accepted you will be required to have completed calc and physics before enrolling in the fall, but if you haven't taken them before applying your chances of admission will not be hurt. I think. Check with admissions office for the Official Rules, as they were.
To the best of my knowledge most people have either taken some time off between ugrad and grad or are starting their second career. I came straight from undergrad, but I also took two years off in the middle of my ugrad...
I think it has a lot to do with what you studied in ugrad also. In my case, coming from an arch. program I sometimes wish I would have taken a little break between RISD and the GSD.
- how relevant is the open house? i've heard the time to go is during crits... but might want to go just to check it out....
You probably should visit the school when it's not self-consciously welcoming guests; I think this is always a good idea. To the best of my knowledge, however, there will also be an opportunity to see some 1st year M.Arch I crits on friday.
so really, what is the dirt. to be brutally honest, the core 1 students used a lot of big words in their crits, but the work did not blow my mind. what is the ratio of students with 'pure talent' to 'people who put in the hours' to 'people who had a good undergrad gpa' ???
does gsd blow your mind?
what was the biggest draw for you to attend?
do your classmates inspire you?
