So turns out all these students had their projects wayyyyy overleveraged on sleep. As projects have all run into the grim reality of studio, increasing numbers of students are finding they have to default on their sleep loans. Designers were overconfident and frivolities like explorations in window details and such minutia have been discovered when quality or even production of basic plans and elevations have gone largely ignored. Dark architectural times indeed.
My project is teetering on the brink but I'm getting a small bailout courtesy of Peet's Coffee. Some experts say this will not be enough. It'll have to do. For now.

Man...I'm so feeling them right now. I hate that feeling. I just went through that last week. I don't get what the point of a final review is. Don't we get the critiscm we need from our studio professors? How are we suppose to apply the crits we get at the end of the term when it's supposedly finished? When the next project in the spring? The next project, which is a totally new project with a different agenda. beats me.
Very funny write up, ACfA, and all you poor desk-sleeping students - it hurts my mother's heart to see you like that. But I've been there many a time and feel sure you will survive it!
I'm also such a voyeur, I love to see what people keep on their desks. The OJ, peanut butter, cold-eez - and Sobo!
