Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland.
As any architect would I looked for the interesting. The surrounding area had this Futurism feel to it. Space Mountain very much appears to have elements from Antonio Sant'Elia work (La Città Nuova, 1914)
As we approached the roller coaster cars I started inspecting the ceiling and all the lighting effects.
Popcorn ceilings!
In the future, popcorn ceilings will be installed even in spaceships.
Below is a photo of the interior of the plane we took back from Orlando to New Jersey. Familiar? but no Popcorn Ceiling.
Future design towards the exit of Space Mountain, a Dwell magazine special with a robot.
Some photos of the Peoplemover at Tomorrowland just outside Space Mountain.
[all photos by Chris, except the Antonio Sant'Elia image]
shout out to jla-x on this post.
Boredom as a result of too much to do. Too much professional practice architecture. Too much reality. Lots of fiction and lots of history.
