    last day in beijing....whew...

i almost missed writing a blog while im in beijing...

    mini post from beijing....
Since internet is limited here i will do a quick one.. Btw i did not think that i would spend some time in a starbucks eating a dry blueberry muffin(the cheapest thing they have)...

After hong kong i flew to beijing for my second leg of my china adventure... well i think i just got use to japan or something but everybody here in beijing doesnt care whether you get elbowed, stepped on or whatever... oh another thing japan takes pride on being one of the safest country... Well in beijing is the somewhat the opposite... Maybe because i travel by myself but ive been a prey...''prey-ed'' on by countless souvenir vendors, pimps and ofcourse hoes... Anyways this city has an odd feel... Odd in the sense that there is a blatant exsistance of ''haves and have nots''... for example in this hutong community where i think it is a pedestrian street... A black bentley plows through the crowd of people to order a bag of stinky tofu...

Oh architecture stuff... Thats why im blogging in archinect... Well i visited the cliche buildings of beijing... You know the olympic stuff, cctv tower for the contemporary stuff then the forbidden city, summer palace, great wall for the old ones... for the new ones especially the birds nest... It was amazing and dynamic... But the circulation is a bit confusing... i think people can easily get trapped inside the building whenever there is an exiting rush... Oh i went to the commune as well... This is a compilation of posh villas designed by various famous asian architects built 7 years ago which are rented to regular folks for a hefty price... The houses were nice but i think they dont belong in that setting... In the mountains... Why do i say that... The materials that these architects use are beautiful but i dont think it could withstand the harsh climate of the area... some of them look very dirty and almost dilapidated at some point... and especially not the state that you imagine if you go to a five star hotel... I also went to 798 art district.... I love this place... Oh there are a crapload of cheap arch and design books and there is a good selection of it in english... Too bad im going to other places so i cant purchase these books... Too much of a hassel... Oh and the art scene here s thriving... Not busy and crowded... More relaxed and slower pace...

Ok my half an hour is almost up... So i will post photos later... if i can while in china... But if not when i get back to japan... Thanks for reading my lame blog...hahahaha...
    Till next time...
