Super Tall Tower Competition

An international competition for the world’s tallest tower, at a height of 1600m, being the centerpiece of a large scale masterplan in Middle East. The ambitious program aims to house offices, apartments, hotels, observation spaces and integrated amenities to form a self-sufficient vertical city. The total GFA was approximately 780,000sqm.

The design is composed of 3 towers, linked every 200-300m with a structural ring, creating a braced circular form with minimal wind loads and a stable and economical structure. Taking inspiration from the traditional ‘Sahn’, the transfer sky lobbies are modern courtyards/ sky atriums integrated with sky gardens, and can be programmed with various recreational amenities, to form a modern social space for the inhabitants.
