RETRO POST #05: Rigid vs. Fluid
From my personal blog (before Archinect)

One of my peer mentors, Matt Uselman, once suggested to explore the fluid side of my interest in water sports, specifically surfing, and incorporate the excellence I've attained in my surfing pursuits with the further development of my search for a personal design / style. After researching Jennifer Siegal's work, I noticed that in her bio a lot of what makes her architectural journey unique is how she ties in directly to her personal experiences (for instance, the hotdog stand). I know the whole point of studying architecture is to both enjoy the journey and aid in growing the profession -- though, exploring areas of personal interest can be consuming. At this point, my focus is fluid; preparing for graduate study means shedding the skin that once protected me from the elements. I've been reading as much as possible and will continue to open my mind to new areas of architectural research.
