    3rd Day of Orientation

    Steve Fuchs
    Sep 2, '04 2:11 AM EST

Norman Klein lectured. Funny guy with a tremendous depth of knowledge about the history and cultural development of Los Angeles. He was humerously quirky and very engaging. After lecture, we were sent off on our own and told to carpool around LA. Since I am one of the only LA natives, my small group was shown thru the Valley (Meier: Getty), Malibu (Meier: House), and Santa Monica (3rd St, Hennesy & Ingles, Frank Gehry Residence) to name just a few cities and locations. We took Wilshire all the way back to SCI-Arc during rush hour passing thru Westwood, Beverly Hills, and other parts of West LA. After returning near dinner time, we sat in on the follow up lecture with Norman for about 45 mins.

NOTE TO STAFF: When SCI-Arc sends new students their first info pack before school starts, Architecture + Design LA (guide) NEEDS to be included.
