The good news is I passed qualifying. The last two days i've been finally getting into 3D max. However today Prof. Beulinckx adamantly opposed any further digital 3d work. I've got some more design work to do on the steel plates and their connection to the steel tubing. She's suggesting (really demanding) that rather than producing 3d perspectives in the computer that I make detail models on a scale larger than the 1/16th inch scale that I'm currently working in. We talked about rendering photographs in a collage type manor. I feel that there is a possibility for some really great images here, but was also looking forward to constructing a model in Max. She's not against computers, however she doesn't feel that they are going to help solve any of the design decisions I have left. I'm not sure what to think. While I am perfectly comfortable with my ability to produce physical models and render them via photoshop, I was hoping to work on improving a different skill set. Anyhow, it looks like I'll be setting aside my Max files. Both Prof. White and Prof. Buelinckx also nixed my title "the bastardization of historic architecture." I had defined bastardize as the modification by introducing disparate elements. I guess I'll have to come up with something else. I snapped a few pics of my qualifying presentation. There are also a few of the other projects. I didn't take to many though because there were reviews going on.

Alex, I added a few more images.
why can't you build the details in max, then you can see them in all different ways. It would be way faster than building models at this point, cause you only have like 2 weeks now.
