This is the first installment of the Berkeley Guide, an endeavor which I hope will better present the school to those of you interested in applying this year. You are probably aware that our coursework gallery is pretty dated, and largely unrepresented by graduate work. The office is in the process of updating it with thesis work from last spring.
But in the meantime, here is a fairly random selection (basically everyone who sent me stuff when I announced that I was going to post work on my blog) of student work. Unfortunately I don't have the time to put in text explanations of the work, but the diversity should speak for itself.
Spring 08 thesis work:
Arch 201 (studio) work:
Rene Davids 201 studio spring 2008:
more 201 work:
Arch 209 seminar w/ Maxi Spina:
Arch 200 (first year option 3) work:
I believe there is more work on the way!

the diversity is pretty impressive. so did denari teach the airplane thing there too? i saw it at princeton and ucla.
yeah he did all three at the same time
Thanks for posting a "guide." I kind of wish you were around to do this when I was applying last year.
One question about the airplane. Assuming that it's a terminal how exactly does the plane get in there? Airplanes can't move sideways... and it seems that the structure is permanently fixed. Am I missing something?
Bucky is right though, some very diverse and interesting work. Very different than the work that comes out of my school.
veronica is the shit
