    Week 9: CBI & KDM

This week, I finished up stocking the materials library, and ridding it of 2013 price lists. Tuesday, should have been a very exciting day for me, I was finally getting to install a display that I had designed and made. It consisted of a 10’ x 10’ tapestry, promoting a Knoll chair, as well as the chair, and a height adjustable table. Unfortunately for us, the space in which we were installing changed their policy on allowing outside sources to display products changed a mere 3 days before we installed. Thus, all the materials are now sitting in a corner of the office. On Wednesday, I was working at KDM, where I got to attend their board meeting and thank them for allowing me to work with them this summer. We also started working to get donations for the Harley Ride coming up this month. The rest of the week, I have been working on a bid, doing revisions and finding new products to substitute. Today has been a bit difficult, with it being my last day and all. I am going to miss everyone here, and hopefully, I will be back. While at CBI, I have been absolutely blown away with the generosity of the people. From the office in Charlotte, where they offer a portion of their warehouse as an office and storehouse for a nonprofit, to the sincere interest that everyone shows in regards to their coworkers lives. CBI has a philosophy that we all see a million times a day, “We believe that good design is good business. We believe the workplace matters and that the built environment, when leveraged correctly, can have a profound and positive effect on people processes, and our clients’ business.”

“The foundation of our success past, present and future is centered on our clients and the CBI experience we deliver for them. Our mission is simple: to be the premier interior solutions provider in the industry. We will achieve this mission through three guiding principles: providing a challenging and rewarding work environment for our associates, relentless pursuit of excellence in everything we do and managing profitability to ensure longevity.”
