At the first of this week, Amy was in Chicago for Neocon, so I worked on my own while she was gone. During that time, I met with two clients about their projects, continued working on updating the resource room, and explored additional options in other projects I am working on. When Amy got back, she told Lisa and me all about Neocon and the new products that were released. After that, we met and discussed the work I had done while she was gone and a few new projects we are undertaking. The rest of the week was spent pulling together quotes based on my client meetings and coming up with configurations for the new clients.
NOI is associated with the Better Business Bureau, the USGBC, IIDA, Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, and GSA. All designers and sales people work with these organizations on a consistent basis. On a daily basis, we work with a variety of other professionals, including architects, interior design firms, installers, university officials, etc. NOI also does work with charitable organizations. For instance, the Knoxville office hosts Light the Night every year in conjunction with Zero Landfill. As with any company, issues can arise during a project. For example, a wrong component can be ordered and has to be replaced.
This week, I had my first client meeting on my own. I met with Master Sergeant Small with the Air National Guard, based at Tyson McGhee Airport. I am working on an office configuration, as well as a training room. MSgt Small was very pleased with what I had come up with for their spaces. We will be continuing to work together in the following weeks.
