The (design) semester is over, and I am left with that all too familiar feeling that sooo much more could have been done. The critiques were fun, very accurate with the strengths and weaknesses of all the projects, and overall very positive. The biggest issue with my project is that I should really have developed my ground plane more. Otherwise they seemed to like the general direction and intention. A general comment is that no one seemed to have done the siting well and that the Allston site was weird. Coming up next, the long standing tradition of the housing semester to round up the core sequence of studios.

Some images from the final model:

I am now off to Bogota, Colombia with my wife who has never been there. And I hope to bring you along with me by posting some images and comments during our trip.

q+ - Could I ask what combination of materials you used to build the model? It's hard to tell by the pics – beautiful, regardless…

what scale is that? very impressive.

wow - it almost looks like a real model, not just some digital crap - and you have scale people too! (but they give it away by being transparent)

tk, it is 100% a real model, there are some non-transparent people too, I just added some transparent ones in photoshop because I ran out of little people (and felt bad tying up the laser cutter to cut more). I also made all the furniture, which is hard to see. This time I didnt even make a digital model.
      scale: 1/16"=1'

      -museum board
      -chip board
      -H2O krylons
      -transparency paper

      I think that was it...

That model is ridiculously good. Nice work! Did you use a 3D printer or rapid prototyper (or whatever it's called) to make the furniture?
