Learn More About The BAC’s Four Schools:
Architecture at the BAC
Architecture expresses our dreams and values through designing spaces for people to live, work, and reflect. Since 1889, our architecture program has been closely connected to the professional world, with students engaged in real-world design practice as they study. This professional work—from small local nonprofits to major international firms—provides another forum for ideas and transforms the built environment of Boston and beyond. Studying architecture at the BAC educates you to become a citizen architect, learning from faculty, from professionals, and from your diverse and global peers.
Interior Architecture at the BAC
Interior architecture is the design of human experience, putting the needs of people first and shaping interior space using evidence-based design strategies to achieve functional built interior environments. Designers in interior architecture creatively apply a body of knowledge to address new challenges, working sustainably and supporting health and wellbeing. BAC graduates work in major interior and architecture firms and have started firms of their own. Your career possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
Landscape Architecture at the BAC
The mission of the School of Landscape Architecture is to provide excellence in design education through an interdisciplinary, academic, and practice-based model of design thinking and learning. Open to a diverse community of students and faculty who wish to explore urban landscapes and sustainable design principles, the School seeks to advance the landscape architecture profession and the diverse and global communities it serves.
Design Studies at the BAC
An education in design cultivates skills in analysis, creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving that are valuable in many fields. Design Studies graduates from the Boston Architectural College are prepared for a broad range of careers. They work as preservation or design specialists in firms, consultants or sole practitioners, advocates for preservation and sustainability, or as design specialists in government, nonprofits, contracting or construction, and development and real estate.
