Hi Archinect!
I wasn't able to live blog last night's lecture by Marc Simmons from Front, but it's just as well, as he talks so articulately that it's better to watch the video yourself, at the GSD's YouTube channel.
It was a great presentation of Front's façade consultation and design/build work, integrating conversations about architectural intentions, competitions and client relations, material experimentation and technology, digital fabrication, financial and contractual aspects of each job, construction, and affect and experience.
Something for everyone!
Thanks for reading.
Lian
P.S. Here's a concept diagram for program that I made for studio today...
This blog was most active from 2009-2013. Writing about my experiences and life at Harvard GSD started out as a way for me to process my experiences as an M.Arch.I student, and evolved into a record of the intellectual and cultural life of the Cambridge architecture (and to a lesser extent, design/technology) community, through live-blogs. These days, I work as a data storyteller (and blogger at Littldata.com) in San Francisco, and still post here once in a while.
