In lieu of a final paper and project for Toshiko's class I've been working on a project for the Swedish Trade Council with a group of six other people*. We've basically been hired by the consulate of Sweden to help introduce the new wave of Swedish furniture and product design to the North American audience. The project sounded simple enough when we agreed to do it: design, fabricate, and help install a 1000sqf. exhibition booth at this year's ICFF (the US' version of Salone Mobile for those not familiar with it). Of course I should have known that this would eat my life, distract me from studio, and suck up all of my spare time, but I didn't expect it to be like this.
A Little Cloud Floated Away From Sweden-- Gridded polycarbonate panels hang over the booth to form a cloud-like canopy.
I don't think I'll be posting much between now and installation of this project in the middle of May, but I'll include a wrap up after it's all over and I've had a bit of sleep.
* The project team is Bryan Boyer, Justin Cook, Dustin Stephens, Kristin Hopkins, Marta Morais, Daniel De Sousa, and Zhiyang Zhang.

neat! sounds like a great opportunity.
good luck!
does your project involve socialized medicine and/or umlauts?
If it's any motivation...
I'm writing a paper now on E.G. Asplund (a well-known Swedish architect) and his role in the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition, which was conceived partly as an exhibition of domestic goods (furniture and housewares). What happened, though, was that the architecture stole the show. The architect not only earned a feather for his cap; he went down in the history books.
Good luck.
