The hub opens on Thursday, or at least a part of it is opening, including most of the main hall, or Oculus, as it’s called. And at first blush, Mr. Calatrava’s architecture can almost — almost — make you forget what an epic boondoggle the whole thing has been. That virgin view, standing inside the Oculus and gazing up, is a jaw-dropper. — The New York Times

FYI Calatrava's Milwaukee Museum, with automated flapping wings, came out at $130 million. And Kimmelman doesn't like anything resembling capital A architecture, so..... Context is everything.
Beautiful building though. Seems like the only interesting piece of the whole ground zero site, other than Maki's tower.
Awesome building.... People complain that it's "too white" (ditto Richard Meier) but the contrast between the context and inside is what you experience.
Also seems like a source of comfort for those that have to live in New Jersey
Also weird that it's "opening" before completion. Critics not reviewing fin product
FYI the photos shown are of the West Concourse which has been open for a while. The Occulus is open now.
