Curated by Esther Shipman, 3ByLAND features three firms as part of Common Ground—a summer-long initiative featuring art, urban renewal, and landscape architecture at Cambridge Galleries in Cambridge, Ontario. Our “walking” exhibit explores the choreography of space by challenging how we depict experiences of our designed sites outside of the spaces themselves, specifically with respect to the Nathan Phillips Square Podium Roof Garden and the Dublin Grounds of Remembrance.
Complementing this gallery exhibit is our site-specific installation Channelled Buried Moved Lost: Where Did Mill Creek Go? This outdoor piece encompasses ten locations across Cambridge, mapping the historic journey of Galt’s phantom Mill Creek in celebration of its profound visual and cultural heritage.
