This 40 unit, Passive House guided development will be located on the Northwestern edges of Philadelphia. The surrounding site is replete with a hodgepodge of roof typologies: mansard, hip, gable, shed, flat, etc.. This project borrows from those pattern languages and uses them to create a modern typology comfortable here and now. Moving the drive aisle to rear loaded garages allows a human scaled development to emerge with a shared green walkway at residents front doors where they can garden, enjoy a quiet bench alone, or gather with friends. A range of water basins at both street faces and pervious landscaping allows for all of the site’s rainwater to penetrate back into the water table where it belongs.
