In Kensington’s former Richardson Mints factory one of Philadelphia’s first Industrial Residential Mixed-Use (IRMX) projects is coming to fruition. Thirty-four light filled loft style apartments over thirty-five artisan industrial studios, an art gallery, commercial spaces, and future restaurant all form a vibrant live-work village with a rooftop urban teaching farm above it all. Using the arts as generators for community engagement and redevelopment, developer SHIFT Capital aims to keep the maker economy rolling in the heart of post-industrial Philadelphia, former Workshop of the World.
