Philadelphia, PA
This infill duplex packs the most into a site in Philadelphia only 38 feet deep. To compensate for the building's lack of depth, the project expands in height. A pitched roof gives the impression of a 2-story building from the street but allows for a top floor with a dynamic ceiling height. Both units have distinct outdoor spaces. The lower unit has a sunken yard off the living space and the upper unit has a deck sliced into the roof, allowing for a private-feeling outdoor space. This duplex is designed with Passive House principles in mind.
