This is the Detroit Police Department Headquarters Building. It's an 8 story building on Beaubin in downtown Detroit. The architect was Albert Kahn and it was completed in 1922. The building is currently in a state of ill repair. There are a couple plans for a new police headquarters, including one to move the entire department to the former Michigan Central Station building which is located a mile or so west of downtown. The MCS building is in shambles, however, and the project would cost Detroit, a city already cutting services, an estimated $130 million. Despite its state, the current DPD headquarters is a beautiful building and with a little TLC could remain home to Detroits police force.

an interesting idea for a studio project/ thesis
chili, you should post some pics of the michigan central building for reference. for better or worse, it is a dramatic greeting to the city of detroit.
I plan on doing that soon, bossman, but I haven't made it there recently and I was waiting until I could post some newer pics.
