I was on campus last night to drop some things off in the studio, and I decided to take a walk around with my digital camera. LTU recently received a major overhaul including a new student services center and a redesigned quad. I noticed once I had walked through the quad that LTU once again felt like a college campus.
Above is the University Technology and Learning Center, or UTLC. This building houses the architecture studios as well as galleries, the architecture computing resource center, and other various class rooms.
This is a typical LTU studio. It is early in the semester, so the clutter hasn't had much time to build, but give it time.
Here is the newly completed A. Alfred Taubman Student Services Center. It is a state-of-the-art facility housing all the student services from admissions to career sevices. It is also a living laboratory for the study of renewable resources and alternative energy.
This is the bridge connecting the student services center to the science building, which is the bauhaus building to the far right.
This is the new Center for Innovative Materials Research, a building funded by the Army Research Lab, it is a state-of-the-art laboratory for the research, development and testing of carbon fiber composite materials for defense applications.
