San Diego, CA
NewSchool of Architecture and Design (NSAD) is located in San Diego, where coastal town meets metropolis. The region, located along an international border, serves as an ideal laboratory for exploring urban conditions and design as it relates to a wide range of topography and terrain. NSAD's long-standing and respected architecture programs are offered alongside many other design-related programs, providing students the opportunity to collaborate on projects and draw inspiration from each other and our faculty - resulting in an invigorating design environment.
NSAD boasts small classes, talented professional practitioners as faculty members, and access to a sophisticated materials lab that includes 3D printer technology used by high-end design firms around the world. In addition, students can work on real-world projects in the school’s unique Design Clinic classes that connect students with private clients and community groups. International experience is a core part of the NSAD mission, with students reaping benefits from the school’s Pacific Rim location near the U.S.-Mexico border and its membership in the Laureate International Universities (LIU) network. NSAD’s other design-related programs include construction management, interior design, product design and various digital arts specialties including animation, game art and game programming. Many of these newer programs have been developed in collaboration with renowned design schools in the LIU network, such as Domus Academy in Milan, Italy and Media Design School in Auckland, New Zealand.
NSAD encourages students to explore the potential of sustainable design and to become socially responsible leaders who thrive in a diverse and global society. We invite you to learn more about our graduate and undergraduate architecture programs, and other specialties: http://www.newschoolarch.edu/
