The Tennessee Titans NFL franchise has shared renderings for its proposed new 60,000-seat stadium in Nashville from Manica Architecture.
The 1.7-million-square-foot design will feature a dome enclosure with a network of exterior public terrace “porches,” inspired by the city, that will “serve Nashville and Tennessee for generations,” according to Titans president and CEO Burke Nihill.
Per a team press announcement: “The stadium architecture is inspired by the city of Nashville and is planned to be complementary to the broader East Bank development plan led by the City. The design gave specific attention to multi-purpose function, in order to maximize the number and types of events that could take place in the building.”
Key design elements will reportedly include:
According to the Associated Press, the stadium will cost approximately $1.2 billion to construct and require a special bond issuance approved by the Metro Nashville Council and Metro Sports Authority totaling $760 million in order to get off the ground. Another $500 million commitment from the state represents the final hurdle. Those figures mean that, in terms of public funding, the project, which includes planning input from Nashville-based HASTINGS Architecture, LLC, would stand as the costliest in NFL history.
The project will also incorporate a host of “high-tech and sustainable materials throughout the building” in the aim of achieving a LEED Gold certification. It is worth noting that an architect of record has not been hired as of this time and be subject to a full, community-inclusive design process at a later date and time.
Manica is also behind the recently-proposed new Chicago Bears stadium, and has to-date completed designs for Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium and Chase Center NBA arena in San Francisco.

The only good thing about soccer is that their stadiums are way better than the average football one.
