Prince Charles urges architects to place pedestrians “at the centre of the design process” as part of a 10-point “master plan” he has devised for the developments of towns and cities.
He also calls for many street signs to be removed. “Slow” and “Reduce Speed Now” signs, for example, should be taken down and replaced by features such as squares, bends and trees that “naturally” encourage motorists to reduce their speed.

When I first saw the picture and the title of the article together, I thought he was talking about flying cars. Too bad it's just signs with squares on them...

The world could use fewer street signs. There are just too many. It makes the world hideous. One day I was on a second tier travel route and I counted 100 bits of graphic signage and things to read in the stretch of a single mile. My favorites are the signs that tell you another sign is coming up: "Warning: Warning sign in 100 feet".
