KMA Architecture & Engineering, in conjunction with Davis Davis Architects and ID Studios, designed the new 250,000 square foot headquarters facility for ResMed Corporation. The project consists of a six-story office building and five-levels of parking. The building also includes training, an exercise facility and a full-service cafeteria. A central park featuring an intricate mix of hardscape, softscape landform treatments and topography creates outdoor meeting spaces for employee gatherings.
To maximize the building's efficiency, the design includes significant use of daylighting, increased through the use of light shelves to help bounce light deeper into the building. The building also features an access floor system for cable management and a state-of-the art underfloor air distribution system for the data center. Other innovative technologies include the use of a Rainscreen system, characterized by a Trespa and Alucobond ventilated wall system to prevent problems associated with moisture entering the building, and allowing the building to "breathe."
