Alphatec Spine Inc. is a national medical device company specializing in the surgical treatment of spine disorders and has relocated its existing corporate offices, R&D, human tissue laboratories and manufacturing from four separate buildings into two adjacent existing buildings (2 stories, 76,887 SF and 72,129 SF) that were modified to incorporate natural daylighting, new energy efficient lighting and controls, mechanical systems and finishes for a variety of high tech equipment and machinery. This work was phased to minimize the impact on day to day operations.
KMA served as the Prime Architectural Firm assisting Medtronic Interventional Vascular update their offices and labs. Located in an existing building is a $5 million project providing Medtronic with 100,000 square feet of improved space, with future expansion potential to fill the entire 113,000 square foot building. The design will provide office research lab and manufacturing space for the company, which provides coronary angioplasty catheters and other technologies for the treatment of vascular disease.
Two clean rooms, Class 10,000, totaling 17,000 square feet, are engineered for high-efficiency particle air filters designed to remove up to 99.99 percent of all particulates measuring three-tenths of a microm or larger.
