As banks have strived to serve their customer base, the demand for the convenience of Automatic Teller Machine installations has increased. Along with that has come the challenge of making the installations universally accessible to the disabled. EBA has assisted several bank branches in meeting the ADA requirements in the most challenging installation situations.
In this San Francisco branch, the need was for an ATM as well as access to the main bank floor, which was 18” above street level. To preserve the historic corner entry, a second entry with a mechanized wheelchair lift was provided. Note that the ATM service room was also required to be accessible.
