Weingut Wagram

The Wagram estate in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria is an example of how far destilat's design always extends beyond the interior: Façade and square design, wayfinding and even the planting plan for the castle garden (in cooperation with a landscape planner) bear destilat's signature. However, the work for the Strobl wine manufactory began much earlier - destilat accompanied the client in an advisory capacity even during the search for a suitable property.

The estate is part of a 4,000 m2 ensemble consisting of a business premises, residential building and bathhouse, which was renovated from the ground up due to its poorly preserved building fabric and supplemented with new buildings. The two-storey residential building retains its historical appearance on the outside, but inside the winding building has been completely redesigned. The large main staircase was "turned around" for this purpose and a railing was developed in historical design language.

Authentic building materials and craftsmanship techniques were the focus of the property's revitalisation: the antique herringbone and panel parquet floors were discovered in 18th and 19th century estates and the stone floor was composed of old, tumbled travertine; walls and ceilings were painted using traditional brushstroke techniques, acoustic ceilings were hidden under the stucco of the historic walls that weighs tons, and the original box windows were restored and fitted with "histoglass".

To ensure that all these rooms - from the wellness area in the cross vault to the converted attic - can be shown in the best light, destilat also developed the complete lighting system.
