As you arrive into the corridor of the counselors’
offices, you are submitted into the journey of the
cenote. Cave walls compose layers of refurbished
woods, while ceiling lighting design allow for
“natural” light to fall through as paths guide you
through the space. Furnishing include built-in rock
formations made to resemble those that have
deteriorated from the walls of a cave.
The design intent behind the cenote is to inspire
a sense of privacy among the counseling offices in
which the patients will converse one-on-one as well
as group counseling sessions with their professional
counselors. The preliminary sketch of the cenote
demonstrates a 15 minute interpretation for the client.
