Although he graduated from RISD with a undergraduate degree in architect, David Macaulay went on to become an award winning author and illustrator of books such as Cathjedral, Pyramid, Castle, City and The Way Things Work. In this video he explains the creative processes which culminated in his newest book Rome Antics.

what do you mean, "although"!?!
if he didn't study architecture i don't think he'd be able to draw it so well. That man taught me so much about diagramming in 20 minutes than any studio teacher i've ever had.
i love his work!
Of course that is a key aspect of his authorial and illustrative voice..
I have always love his perspectives.
