    Sorry for the lack of post. I've been bombarded with readings, and behind-the-screen legwork that I have to put in order to put my proposal sustainable. Let me start to update you with an exciting news.

    Cranbrook Art Museum is re-opening. It has been the talk for everyone around campus for a while now. The D-day is going to be on November, 11th, and programs are crazy magnetic for 11 days afterwards.

    The schedule is below.

    Friday, November 11
    Public Hours: 9pm – 12 midnight

    7:00 – 9:00 PM: ArtMember’s Opening Reception.

    Collections Wing Tours (Tours depart from the Archives Reading Room in the Lower Level).

    7:30 PM & 8:30 PM: Bob Turek presents, "A Cautionary Tale - A Musical in Two Acts."

    9:00 PM – Midnight:  Public Opening Reception. Cash Bar.
    EMERGENCE presents “A Night of Music: Night One." Featuring: Invincible, The Rarities, and The Cupcake Collective. For a full description, click here.


    Saturday, November 12
    Public Hours: 10am -11pm

    11:00 AM: No Object Is an Island Exhibition Tour.

    1:00 PM: Collections Wing Tour

    1:00 –2:30 PM: Cranbrook Academy of Art Alumni Panel, featuring artists Nick Cave, Samantha Fields, Shannon Goff, Kate Clark, and more.

    2:00 PM: Saarinen House Tour

    4:00 PM: Collections Wing Tour

    7:00 PM:  In Dialogue: Artist Anthony Burrill and the Musicians of Acid Washed.

    8:00—10:00 PM:  Concert: Live from Berlin and Paris - Acid Washed.

    Sunday, November 13
    Public Hours: 10am – 9pm

    11:00 AM: No Object Is an Island Exhibition Tour.

    12 Noon: Family and Youth Tour of No Object Is an Island Exhibition.

    1:00 PM: Collections Wing Tour.

    1:00 PM -3:00 PM: Family Day - “Pressed and Bound” Bookbinding Workshop with Terry Conrad. For a full description, click here.

    2:00 PM: Saarinen House Tour.

    4:00 PM: Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Featuring: Marian Tanau (violin), Cristina Muresan (violin), James VanValkenburg (viola) and Haden McKay (cello) performing Mozart, Beethoven, and Sibelius.

    Monday, November 14
    Public Hours: 10am – 9pm

    11:00 AM: No Object Is an Island Exhibition Tour.

    1:00 PM: Collections Wing Tour.

    2:00 PM: Saarinen House Tour.

    7:00 PM: In Dialogue, On Design:  Graphic Designer Katherine McCoy and Product Designer Michael McCoy.

    Tuesday, November 15

    1:00 PM: Collections Wing Tour.

    2:00 PM: Saarinen House Tour.

    7:00 PM: In Dialogue, On Weaving: Artist Ann Hamilton and Artist Gerhardt Knodel.

    Wednesday, November 16

    1:00 PM: Collections Wing Tour.

    2:00 PM: Saarinen House Tour.

    7:00 PM: In Dialogue, On Science:  Artist Susan Goethel Campbell and Geologist John Zawiskie
    Note: This program will take place in the newly renovated, state-of-the-art Acheson Planetarium at Cranbrook Institute of Science. Attendance is limited to the first 75 guests. Cranbrook Art Museum admission fees apply to this program.
