FIU College of Architecture + The Arts Associate Dean of Students and Department of Architecture Associate Professor David Rifkind was mentioned in a Miami Herald article released in late March 2016. The article is entitled “Urban Sketch Tour: Where students learn to draw Miami’s historical buildings” and was written by Caitlin Granfield.
The article covers the monthly SketchMIA events, which was developed by Cheryl Jacobs, the director of theAmerican Institute of Architects Miami chapter and Miami Center for Architecture & Design (MCAD), “as a way to supplement MCAD’s monthly walking tours of downtown’s historical buildings.” Rifkind teaches SketchMIA with University of Miami Professor Joachim Perez on the last Saturday of every month.
