On Tuesday, January 19th, students in FIU Interior Architecture’s Cruise Ship and Super Yacht certificate program visited the Ferretti Group in Fort Lauderdale for the first time. Students were able to tour the Ferretti Group offices, as well as some of the yachts in the covered, in-water showroom, which is the largest of its kind in the Americas.
Giuseppina Arena, the interior design manager at Ferretti Group in the USA, welcomed the students and talked about her experience working with the company for the past 8 years. Arena gave the students a tour of four yachts of three different brands: Pershing 62, Pershing 70, Ferretti 650, and Riva 86 Domino. Through these tours, the FIU students learned more about the spaces they have to work with in yacht design. After the tour, the students presented to Arena and to Caryn Blum (Human Resources Director at Ferretti Group) their first assignment, which was to identify the Ferretti Group and brand and propose a new or potential market where the Ferretti Group could expand.
