FIU Interior Architecture alumna Diana Farmer-Gonzalez '96 (BS Interior Design; Principal & Managing Director, Gensler) will be receiving the Distinguished Alumni Torch Award at the 15th Annual Torch Awards on Saturday, March 19th.
Diana Farmer-Gonzalez is a Principal and Managing Director of Gensler's Miami office, an integrated architecture, design, planning and consulting firm. With more than 30 years of professional experience, she has worked with top local and international design firms and has led projects throughout the United States, Middle East and Latin America. A client relationship expert, she has partnered with prominent corporate clients such as UBS, MasterCard, Bacardi, Zimmerman Omnicom, Citibank, Facebook, British Airways, Pipeline, Akerman, Starwood Hotels and Starbucks.
Farmer-Gonzalez mentors young designers at Gensler and participates in design education programs at FIU's College of Architecture + The Arts (CARTA). Most recently, she established a scholarship on behalf of Gensler for FIU students studying interior architecture, architecture and landscape architecture. Additionally, Farmer-Gonzalez sits on CARTA's Interior Architecture Advisory Board, is an active member of both the American Institute of Architects and International Interior Design Association and was recently named Interior Designer of the Year by the American Institute of Architect's Miami chapter.
