FIU Architecture Design Studio Proposes Ideas for Mana Wynwood

    Dec 2, '15 12:56 PM EST

The exhibit Mana Wynwood: A Neighbhorhood for the “Creative Class” opens tomorrow, Thursday, December 3rd at 2:30PM during Miami Art Week and showcases architectural visions by twenty-eight FIU graduate architecture students led by FIU Professors Alfredo Andia and Claudia Busch. This exhibit is the result of the students’ research and work throughout the past semester.

Mana Wynwood is a 30-acre site located in the southwest area of Wynwood and comprised of around 13 development blocks. Wynwood in the past 5 years has become an urban laboratory in the city of Miami for what social theorist Richard Florida calls the “creative class.” The proposals developed by FIU Architecture students celebrate what has emerged in this neighborhood and explores design visions in an area that is destined to become the core of the future of Wynwood.
