It's been reported already - by Pruned, for instance - but this week the Observer takes us to the indoor ski palace to beat all indoor ski palaces - in the middle of the desert: "this meteorological oddity is Ski Dubai, the third largest indoor slope in the world, where visitors will soon be able to indulge in a quick slalom between bouts of sunbathing."
