Constant was best known for his manifestos on urban life after the end of the machine age and his magnificent renditions of an imaginary city, New Babylon. He was part of the Situationists International and co-founder of the CoBrA group. His art represented ideas about networked spaces that obliterated asigned capitalist functions. His impact on urbanism and architecture could not be overstated, given that his notions were later taken up and advanced by groups like Archigram, Superstudio and OMA.
