The winners of Archinect’s “Dry Futures” competition are revealed!

Launched earlier this summer, Archinect asked participants worldwide to send their most inventive design ideas that address the California drought — from practical and idealistic to speculative and maybe even dystopic. Three prize winners in both the Speculative and Pragmatic categories were revealed!

“Dear Architecture” winners write fictional letters about real problems in the field

Organized by Blank Space, "Dear Architecture" entrants had to pen their own letter to our dearly beloved Architecture — whether as a concept, a social practice, or as a community. Let's just say that the letters got upfront and personal.

Details of JA Architecture’s 4th-prize Bauhaus Museum Dessau entry, “Six Rooms”

The recently concluded Bauhaus Museum Dessau competition attracted a mix of approaches for the Bauhaus' proposed museum for Dessau, Germany. At the end of the two-stage competition, Nima Javidi and Behnaz Assadi of Toronto-based JA Architecture Studio scored fourth prize with their design, "Six Rooms".

Results of the TREEHOUSING International Wood Design Competition

In addressing the global issues of housing availability and deforestation, DBR | Design Build Research School along with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) created the TREEHOUSING competition to seek a fresh set of wood-building design ideas.

The Henning Larsen Foundation celebrates inter-disciplinary creativity between architecture and the arts in an annual competition. Participants in this year's architectural film contest created short films that focused on the experience of architectural space over time.
