Made-By-Hand, No Google Manifesto

This month we are hosting a zine workshop taught by designer Alex DeArmond. We started off the class by meeting librarian Rosemary Furtak in Walker Library and checked out zines and artist books by Raymond Pettibon, Ed Ruscha, Sara Varon and many others....
After the library, we played around with the equipment that we will be using. We decided to take a very low tech approach to producing the zines, relying on a handful of typewriters, xerox machines, font books, and letraset sheets. Knowing that most of the students are coming from the world of computer aided graphic design, Alex decided to set some guidelines for the workshop. Below is his “Made-By-Hand No Google Manifesto.”
Of course, I found it by Googling "Manifesto". Just kidding... Eyeteeth

Seems like a typewriter is just a less effective computer and a library is a less effective internet, and the fact that they have a blog documenting an analog project seems almost hypocritical... Am I missing something here?
Why not design this zine with a chisel and stone moses style and only provide access from on top of a mountain?
LEED, I must admit, that on its face, you may have a point but, you might be a little less critical if you consider two things; first, the zine workshop and the blog about the workshop, are two entirely different things. Second, the "web" as great as it is as a tool, can also become a web for capturing and paralyzing creativity. This exploration I am in favor of, and only wish I was aware of the class before it happened...oh, well.
