thank you for the link, orhan. the photos are amazing. they look attractive in a strange way, although when i look at the photos of hong kong on the web showing mid-air bird's eye view takes away all the wonders of monumentality and reveals more humanly scale. by that i mean an apartment building looks like a man among his peers. other photo sets are very interesting as well, like the ones about private space spilling over public space, 100x100 dwellings and so forth.
great link!
beautiful images which provide a great commentary about the inhumanity of architecture in density...(being in detroit, I like to contrast it with the inhumanity of architecture in the lack of density)
incidentally, does anyone remember, there was a link to another photographer's site, that showed interior photographs of 100 s.f. apartments in china. anybody know what i'm talking about?
this guy is a fantastic photographer. i first saw his work in seoul. he certainly catches the ominous intensity of urban density in asia very accurately.
someone needs to curate an exhibition about the gianganticism, the bigness of the subjects portrayed by these german photographers. maybe iti is in their blood or something i dunno...
