<TYPE> CATHOLIC CHURCH/ RENOVATION/ ADDITION/ INTERIOR

<LOCATION> FORT WAYNE, IN

Project Overview

The interior hall and alter area need to be renovated to be brighter visually, which resulted in covering some of the brick facade with light colored panel. The new coffered ceiling area also offer a brighter visual effect. The original polished concrete floor was renovated with terrazzo surface to add more visual delight and emphasize the axis from the church entrance to the altar space.

The addition space includes the original covered entrance of the building which was used most of the time as gathering space for people after the Mass due to lack of interior meeting spaces. This space is now used as the church lobby as well as gathering and waiting area.

The additions and renovation made a series layers of spaces of different characteristics as one enters the building moving to the hall.
